Earlier in 2008, with the development of our first project,
Moja Safari Wilderness, underway in Niassa Reserve, we were driving back from Niassa to our home in Zimbabwe when we passed the turn-off to the Gorongosa National Park. We had heard about the Park from a news article screened on television a few weeks before, and had a vague memory of exotic birds found on the mountain of the same name, but other than that had little knowledge of Gorongosa.
